After the defeat she suffered at Wrestlemania 37 where she lost the title of female champion in the Main Event and in a highly anticipated event against Bianca Belair, Sasha Banks is quite surprisingly off the titled radar.
Many now await a return of the wrestler and a new crackling feud with the reigning champion but in the meantime succulent and interesting details emerge about The Legit Boss. During the Just Women's Sports podcast Sasha Banks told some anecdotes about her experience in WWE and in particular about her name in WWE.
Sasha revealed that Vince Mcmahon's company recommended a long list of names and she had to choose and recounted a particular situation of her with her mother. Here are her words: "The name really came to me by chance. They recommended a long list of names and I always remember putting Sasha with a different surname and Banks with a different name.
And I remember making my debut on a House Show. for WWE and I needed a name, I was known as Mercedes KV and eventually Sara Del Rey walked into the room and said we got you a name. I said 'What's my name? And she said 'You're Sasha Banks' and I said' Adorable.
It all sounds really good! "I remember writing to my mom and saying 'Mom I have a name in WWE, I'm Sasha Banks' She replied and said 'Change it, it's a porn ostar name! Tell him to change it! ' I explained to my mother that this was not possible and she is now Mama Banks." This thing is now out of date with Sasha Banks' mother who is certainly proud of everything her daughter has done in the company of Vince McMahon with Sasha who is al moment one of the main stars of the female roster at Friday Night Smackdown and who will soon try to recover that title lost in that of SmackDown.
Braun Strowman, Lana and Aleister Black FIRED by WWE!
Layoffs in WWE seem to have no end in this 2021 and the Stamford federation, today, has again surprised the public around the world by announcing some unexpected and somewhat bizarre releases.
Although it was news this morning, the new layoffs include a list of Superstars we never thought we'd see outside WWE right now, especially as some of them had just started new storylines or were part of the latest edition of.
WrestleMania. The names of the fired wrestlers are very prominent and are: Braun Strowman, Aleister Black, Lana, Buddy Murphy, Ruby Riott, Santana Garrett. One of the names that surprises most of all and certainly that of Braun Strowman, former universal champion, intercontinental champion and couple champion, who since 2015 has been a stable presence on the main roster and who has recently taken part in a storyline with Shane McMahon which culminated at WrestleMania 37.
His last appearance dates back to WrestleMania Backlash, where he took part in a triple threat for the WWE Championship alongside Bobby Lashley and Drew McIntyre. Another name that will surely cause a lot of discussion is that of Aleister Black: the Dutch wrestler spent several months off the scene but had recently returned to SmackDown with a revitalized character and had recently started a feud with Big E.
Among others we find Lana, another Superstar on which the WWE has always staked a lot, both outside and inside the ring, and Buddy Murphy, who reached the apex of his career on the main roster as an adept of Seth Rollins, but who had long been struggling to find its place on the Friday night show.
Finally, Ruby Riott was also released, who was part of a tag team with Liv Morgan, and Santana Garrett, NXT athlete who had participated in the last Royal Rumble. As always, WWE wished the best for the future of all newly fired athletes.
