Wrestlemania 37 was the first WWE ppv done in front of an audience after the outbreak of the covid-19 pandemic to the delight of athletes and fans who were moved to find themselves in one place to share a passion. But the real possible star of 2021 as far as the WWE is concerned, among the Big 4, could be the hottest show of the summer, Summerslam, which has been making headlines for several months already.
The names to bring on the show's card, which this year found a home on Saturday 21 August at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada, are so many, important and have invaded social networks since the official announcement.
It seems that Vince McMahon's company has decided to dare, putting together a card worthy of Wrestlemania, which is no small feat and not to be underestimated for the success of the second live ppv in the middle of a pandemic.
According to what was written in a tweet from the wrestling news profile WrestleVotes, it seems that there are rumors circulating that the matches at Summerslam could recall great matches suitable for the Grandaddy of Them All, the most loved and anticipated show in wrestling history.
Here is what was written on the twitter profile: "After talking to some sources on the subject, I learned that WWE is 100% trying to make Summerslam the Wrestlemania of this year." Then he goes on to quote the very words that were said to him: All resources will be exploited.
And he also drops a pretty big bomb for all wrestling fans: “I think they want Reigns vs Cena in the Main Event. I'm not sure they decided." If that were to be the case, even if only with a very important match between Roman Reigns and John Cena, the level of Summerslam would be very high, with the champions and not involved in spectacular matches with the live audience cheering loudly.
Braun Strowman, Lana and Aleister Black FIRED by WWE!
Layoffs in WWE seem to have no end in this 2021 and the Stamford federation, today, has again surprised the public around the world by announcing some unexpected and somewhat bizarre releases.
Although it was news this morning, the new layoffs include a list of Superstars we never thought we'd see outside WWE right now, especially as some of them had just started new storylines or were part of the latest edition of.
WrestleMania. The names of the fired wrestlers are very prominent and are: Braun Strowman, Aleister Black, Lana, Buddy Murphy, Ruby Riott, Santana Garrett. One of the names that surprises most of all and certainly that of Braun Strowman, former universal champion, intercontinental champion and couple champion, who since 2015 has been a stable presence on the main roster and who has recently taken part in a storyline with Shane McMahon which culminated at WrestleMania 37.
His last appearance dates back to WrestleMania Backlash, where he took part in a triple threat for the WWE Championship alongside Bobby Lashley and Drew McIntyre. Another name that will surely cause a lot of discussion is that of Aleister Black: the Dutch wrestler spent several months off the scene but had recently returned to SmackDown with a revitalized character and had recently started a feud with Big E.
Among others we find Lana, another Superstar on which the WWE has always staked a lot, both outside and inside the ring, and Buddy Murphy, who reached the apex of his career on the main roster as an adept of Seth Rollins, but who had long been struggling to find its place on the Friday night show.
Finally, Ruby Riott was also released, who was part of a tag team with Liv Morgan, and Santana Garrett, NXT athlete who had participated in the last Royal Rumble. As always, WWE wished the best for the future of all newly fired athletes.
