John Cena Sr .: "The zombies at Backlash was a antics"

WWE decided to promote Dave Batista's Army of the Dead during the pay-per-view WrestleMania Backlash 2021 that aired last Sunday. To this end, the management of the Stamford company opted for the use of a series of zombies during the match between Damian Priest and The Miz.

Interviewed by Dan Mirade of Boston Wrestling MWF, the father of 16-time world champion John Cena, John Cena Sr. did not hesitate to harshly criticize this choice. He said: "I'm sorry to be so brutal, but zombies are exactly the kind of thing that help turn wrestling into a farce.

Fans don't care about any of this. Undertaker was a different thing, the same goes for Kane and for The Fiend, which has all the credentials to become the new Taker. Maybe there may be a place for the zombies in the Fun House, but what they did to Backlash made no sense.

They screwed it up, it was honestly awful. I have no other words." According to what has emerged in recent days, the zombies included Chance Barrow, Joe Ariola, Bronson Rechsteiner, Drew Kasper, Joe Gracy, Jacob Kasper, Asher Hale, Ari Sterline, August Gray, Ikemen Jiro, Daniel Vidot, Jake Atlas and Xyon Quinn.

Cena Sr. also talked about the possibility of witnessing a match between Brock Lesnar and Bobby Lashley in the WrestleMania 38 main event. He added: "They are two guys who have a past in MMA. Who will agree to lose? I'm not sure people have the desire to see such a thing.

Plus, the WrestleMania main event has to be something special that you build throughout the year, even better if you manage to surprise the fans. Lesnar vs Lashley doesn't seem like the right way to go."
