Roman Reigns and Bobby Lashley both defended their respective world titles in the pay-per-view WrestleMania Backlash which took place last Sunday. The WWE champion defeated Braun Strowman and Drew McIntyre in a no holds barred match, while the 'Tribal Chief' left no chance for the Swiss Cesaro.
Reigns has kept his Universal title for a whopping 250 days since he won it at Payback last year. Along the way, Roman took away the satisfaction of beating tough rivals like Jey Uso, Drew McIntyre, Kevin Owens, Daniel Bryan and finally Cesaro.
Given the recent interference by Seth Rollins against the Swiss, it seems that the 'Hound' is destined to contend with Jimmy Uso a Hell in a Cell. In the latest edition of his now famous podcast, the two-time WWE Hall of Famer Booker T hinted that Reigns should take on WWE champion Bobby Lashley right now.
"The best plan for Roman Reigns would be to get him to meet the leader of The Hurt Business, namely Bobby Lashley. The whole world of wrestling would be interested in such a match, WWE would take a breath of fresh air in this historical phase.
Lashley is one of the few who can compete with Roman in terms of size and charisma. As I've always said, Reigns makes everyone who works with him better wrestlers. As good as Cesaro was even before, he has become even more popular since he started collaborating with Reigns," analyzed Booker T.
Despite having given birth to a spectacular match, Cesaro was forced to surrender against an opponent in great dust from all points of view. Since his return to SummerSlam in 2020, Roman has handled the numerous changes that have affected his character perfectly, including the controversial turn heel and the alliance with Paul Heyman.
The feeling that he has now reached full maturity is turning into a certainty.
