Rhea Ripley talked about her Nightmare nickname in an interview with The Today Show. Her inspiration was the heavy metal band Motionless In White and their song,

“I sort of give it to myself because I thought it was very fitting. I got it from Motionless In White. One of their songs said, ‘I’m the nightmare that will haunt you in the night,’ and I was like, ‘That’s amazing.’”- she said, as quoted by pwmania.com!

Rhea emphasized that it is also her favorite band. In addition, her character and the fear she instills in opponents was the reason why she realized that her nickname was a great idea.

“They’re my favorite band and I look a lot like Chris Motionless, who is the lead singer, so I thought it was very fitting to call myself ‘The Nightmare,’ especially with the way that I handle people in the ring because every time they step in there, it’s their worst nightmare.”- she continued.

Mickie James on 2024 Royal Rumble and Rhea Ripley

Mickie James was a guest on Gabby AF and talked about whether she will enter the 2024 Royal Rumble.

“I’m not coming back at this Rumble unless I’m winning because Hardcore Country at WrestleMania? It prints itself. Because the winner gets a title shot at WrestleMania. If you win the Rumble, you automatically get a title shot.”- she said.

James has shown many times in her career how motivated she is for big matches. Mickie confirmed that this time as well. Her wish is Rhea Ripley, and she thinks it was a great match, especially since they didn't have the chance to meet in the ring earlier.

“Rhea. You know why? Because I’ve never faced her. I never had a chance to wrestle her. I think Mami needs to take on The Mother.”
