The WWE Draft came alive during the SmackDown episode aired this Friday night from Corpus Christi, Texas, and there was no shortage of surprises. In addition to Triple H, who did the honors in the first round of calls, other great stars of the past also helped to formalize the first names of the new rosters that will make up SmackDown and Raw.

We summarize them here, adding what such assignments entail. The first call, quite obvious, is that of Roman Reigns for SmackDown. With him there will be the inevitable Paul Heyman and Solo Sikoa. The Usos are absent for now: to understand what their future destiny might be (as per the list released by WWE, Jimmy & Jey will only be draftable next Monday on Raw).

Also interesting is the first call from Raw: Cody Rhodes. This therefore seems to stop at least for the time being the American Nightmare's feud with the current Undisputed WWE Universal Champion. SmackDown then landed Bianca Belair, current Raw Women's Champion.

To be understood if, as has already happened in the past for Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair, an equal exchange between the two belts will be necessary. Closes the first round of calls Becky Lynch, now back to Raw. The second round of the Draft was inaugurated by the Street Profits: Angelo Dawkins & Montez Ford thus passed together to SmackDown.

The call from Raw is even more interesting: by selecting the entire Imperium, the red show in addition to Ludwig Kaiser & Giovanni Vinci also secured Gunther. In this way the intercontinental title will be defended again on Monday evening.

The third call, concerning SmackDown, brings one of its historic bearers back to the blue show like Edge. Raw's response was instead that of Riddle, lately often seen on Friday nights as an ally of Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn.

In the third round of calls, the big names returned to show up.

SmackDown has in fact secured Bobby Lashley, while Raw has selected Drew McIntyre: just two years ago, at WrestleMania 37, the two competed for the WWE Championship. So SmackDown has called back one of its symbols of the last five years: that phenomenal AJ Styles who will bring with him all the reinforcements of The OC (Karl Anderson, Luke Gallows & Michin).

Raw's answer was instead The Miz, another former WWE Champion during the aforementioned 2021. The evening ended with some very interesting calls. SmackDown continued its trend of multiple calls by securing the three female wrestlers that make up Damage CTRL (Bayley, IYO SKY & Dakota Kai) in one fell swoop.

Raw instead preferred to secure the services of the returning Shinsuke Nakamura. Then came two calls both from NXT and both regarding the women's division: SmackDown selected the current NXT Women's Tag Team Champions, Alba Fyre and Isla Dawn, while Raw responded with the NXT Women's Champion, Indi Hartwell.
