Historian Tim Hornbaker has announced that his tenth book, The Last Real World Champion: The Legacy of Nature Boy Ric Flair, will be published on ECW Press on September 12, 2023. Hornbaker, the author of Death of the Territories, he said this will mark the first time a historian has written a book about Flair.
He also stated that the book has been in the works for three years. Speaking with SLAM Wrestling's Greg Oliver, Hornbaker clarified that Flair was not involved in the project. He also expressed his goal to put Nature Boy's achievements into perspective.
Hornbaker said: "Ric Flair is one of the most important professional wrestling figures of all time. He is also one of the most talked about and criticized personalities in the history of the sport. I thought it was time for a historian to present his full story from a point of view.
independent view and put his accomplishments in proper perspective."
Will Nature Boy Ric Flair be active again in professional wrestling?
In one of the many episodes of his popular podcast To Be The Man, Ric Flair said that he wouldn't mind taking on the role of manager of someone either in WWE or AEW.
He told: "Absolutely for Aew or WWE, but they don't they want. Because I'm too good at what I do, even at my age. I'm not talking about being a producer, not even being a writer. I don't mean that. I'm talking about handing me a microphone and they should let me do it.
I want to say, you tell me if it is not true." For now, however, the legend does not miss anything and also earns a lot of money making videos on Cameo: "I earned $ 669,000 just to make a cameo. Cameos last 1-2 minutes. That's what I've been doing for the past 21 months."
