Rhea Ripley managed to win the 2023 women's Royal Rumble to be able to snatch a ticket that will take her directly to one of the two WrestleMania 39 evenings which this year will be held in Los Angeles. In the episode after the Premium Live Event, The Eradicator took to the ring to talk about this victory, with the WWE Universe waiting to know which champion she would choose to challenge at the Showcase of the Immortals, and between Charlotte Flair and Bianca Belair, SmackDown Champion and Raw Champion respectively, she chose Charlotte Flair.
Speaking to WWE Die Woche, Rhea Ripley wanted to talk about why she was chosen: "Possibly," she said when asked if Ripley could face Belair at WrestleMania 40. "The decision between Bianca and Charlotte was very difficult I had to sit down and think a lot about my decision.
I have unfinished business with Bianca, I was number one contender until I got injured and basically broke my front tooth, and lost my seat, lost my opportunity. It's a thing that happens. If you get hurt, you lose your place on the ladder and you have to go back.
Bianca and I, a feud and us confronting each other, that's something that's going to happen for years to come. We have a lot of years under our belt and we're on our way to commanding the women's division in WWE. My choice to opt for Charlotte was mainly dictated by revenge.
It's practically my kryptonite and I'm sick of it. I've worked so hard to get where I am and be the kind of person I am today and prove to everyone what I'm capable of and she's the last person I have to prove who I am. I know in my heart, at WrestleMania, she's going to learn who that damn Rhea Ripley is and she's not going to like the result." A few days ago we informed you that, according to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer, WWE is thinking of making the match between Charlotte Flair and Rhea Ripley as the main event of Night 1 of WrestleMania 39.
But now everything would have changed, in fact WWE is thinking of putting the match for the tag titles between the champions, the Usos, and Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens in the main event for that evening.
