Britt Baker is one of the most popular performers in AEW because she has managed to build a character that works and is highly regarded by all the fans who follow the company. During an interview on Swerve City, the Swerve Strickland and Monteasy podcast, the dentist talked about her role in the AEW women's division saying: "I consider myself the face of the women's division.
It's a job and that's a priority. Doing that. that I do on TV every week, be a presence on TV, I'm one of the stars of the division, but I'm doing all these external things that are given to me and that have to do with the sign here and there.
I get compared to Charlotte Flair all the time on Twitter. For me, ok cool, one of the best female fighters of all time. People don't understand the constant pressure that comes with all the hate you get. We are people. On Twitter they dehumanize us: Oh, we're just wrestling characters, but we're not, we're people.
This is our job and we want to be good at our job. You're doing everything you can not to screw up, but sometimes you might still do it. The next day, you work ten times harder to make sure you don't make the same mistakes because we're human."
Precious words from The Queen
After continuing the speech by saying that rightly when you have a certain relevance in the world, people analyze everything you do under the microscope, Britt Baker wanted to quote Charlotte Flair again who seems to have given her excellent advice to ward off negative opinions on social media, which she is an expert given all the hatred she receives only for her surname and for the booking that does not depend on her "Back in Charlotte, she and I chatted and she gave me tons of wonderful advice just to survive this.
She gave me concrete advice to stay true to what you know to be true. Don't worry about the stories fans are creating or what they want reality to be, because you know what's going on and what you're working with. She was fantastic with me."
