Swiss skier Marco Odermatt once again demonstrated his exceptional skills in the giant slalom, securing his third consecutive triumph in the new Alpine Skiing World Cup season. Odermatt's last victory was in the second giant slalom in Alta Badia, where he showed his skills on the legendary Gran Risa in the Italian Dolomites.

He provided a great ride and the spectators could enjoy his skills. Completing the challenging course in a time of 2:28.14 after two runs, Odermatt not only claimed first place, but also left second-placed Marc Schwarz of Austria trailing by a significant margin of one second and five hundredths of a second.

The dominance of the Swiss skier in the giant slalom is further reflected in the table, where he leads with an impressive 300 points. Slovenian Zan Kraniec secured a place on the podium with a great second ride, while Croatian skier Filip Zubcic, who has maintained his excellent form this season, secured fourth place.

In the giant slalom standings, Schwarz follows Odermatt with 210 points, Zubcic with 180 and Kraniec with 156. Alexis Pinturault is in fifth place with 136 points.

The next challenge for the world's best skiers awaits them at the beginning of January in Adelboden, Switzerland, where they will compete in the next giant slalom.

As the season progresses, Odermatt continues to dominate the overall World Cup standings with 456 points, leading Schwarz by 364 points. Zubcic consolidated his position in third place with 198 points. The excitement in the world of skiing shows no signs of slowing down in 2023.

On December 22, the Italian night slalom ski tour continues in Madonna di Campiglio. One of the most interesting stages of this tour, and we will see who will mark it this year. Further exciting events are scheduled for December 28 and 29 in Bormio, including the super-G and downhill.
