Ali Abdelaziz: Khabib Nurmagomedov could return to the UFC

Khabib Nurmagomedov is a man with whom one should not spend too many words. His fights, records and everything he has done for the UFC speaks volumes about what a fighter he was. Although he has decided to retire, many still fantasize about his return and believe he would be a dominant figure even after his return.

However, the chances of such a thing are unrealistic and Khabib has repeatedly confirmed that he has no intention of returning to the UFC. Ali Abdelaziz spoke about Khabib in an interview with Sherdog, and believes that Khabib would be the absolute ruler again and that even Israel Adesanya would have no chance against him.

“Khabib now weighs 200 pounds,” Abdelaziz said for Sherdog. “If Khabib comes tomorrow and cuts to 185, he would stop Israel Adesanya in three rounds. I see it. He beats heavyweights, light heavyweights, welterweights, lightweights – he’s unstoppable now.

He’s like a tractor trailer. There are many powerful weapons that Khabib Nurmagomedov has at his disposal. Of course, wrestling and grappling are what he is best at, and wat he has created the biggest headache for his opponents.

Abdelaziz believes he could beat any opponent on that basis. “But styles – if Khabib wants to come back and talks with Dana White and says, ‘Let me fight at middleweight,’ he will finish Israel in three rounds because the style of fights.

Israel can’t stop his wrestling. He can’t stop his grappling. But striking, of course, Israel is the best striker on this planet”.

Ali Abdelaziz on Khabib's return

Although Nurmagomedov has repeatedly confirmed that he would not return, Abdelaziz believes that there is still that fire in him and that he has a desire to return to the octagon.

“He can come back and fight middleweight and become a champion today,” Abdelaziz added. “He’s always in good shape, he’s always in good spirits and you never know. Honestly, he said, ‘I’m never going to fight again.’ But sometimes I feel like he wants (to).

Abdelaziz believes that nowadays anything is possible and that only a trigger is needed to bring him back. “Because I said, ‘Hey, why do you go so hard with the guys?’ He said, ‘Oh, I have to show them who’s the boss.’ But in reality, you never know what happens.

Maybe we do ‘The Ultimate Fighter’ with Tony Ferguson and they go crazy with each other and they end up fighting at the end of the season. You never know”.
