Neil Magny after the win: Now I want Khamzat Chimaev

Defeating Max Griffin, divided by the decision of the referees at the last UFC event, Neil Magny equaled the record by many of the greatest fighters of all time, Georges St-Pierre. This is a record for the most wins in the UFC welterweight category, both of which now have 19.

Magny has been a member of the UFC for a long time and has achieved some impressive results. He is one of only three fighters to have won the Octagon five times in one calendar year. But he stands out according to another piece of information.

He is the only fighter who constantly calls out Khamzat Chimaev, since the summer of 2020, when he spectacularly appeared on Fight Island. He automatically canceled the claim that no one wants to fight against "Borza", but that fight has not been agreed upon to this day.

It should come as no surprise, then, that Magny has once again decided to call out the same fighter. After the fifth win in six appearances, the ninth-ranked UFC welterweight so far has not hesitated.

Priorities

However, at the press conference, he dropped the ball to the ground a bit, revealing that some things are still his priority.

"I always think about how I want a ranked opponent, how I want this or that. But life is the biggest motivator. I look in the mirror and ask myself who the hell do I think I am? I have a son and a family I need to earn.

I don't have the ability to be someone who chooses. It's my job to come here and do what needs to be done. I have a family and I'm not someone who can wait, "said Magny, who is expected to get a ranked opponent, but will hardly be Chimaev, especially if soon he wins against Gilbert Burns.

"If I could choose, I would definitely choose the Top 5 fighters at the moment, but I can't wait for them. I've seen crazy things, I've seen Islam Makhachev fighting Bobby Green, an unranked fighter, so he jumps for one place in the rankings.

If I need to win one by one and climb place by place, until I get to the Top 5, so be it. My job is to appear in fights, "he confirmed. Magny takes this absolutely seriously, as he is certainly one of the more active UFC fighters.

He never refused the fight, and several times he willingly jumped in as a replacement. The fighter that matchmakers love the most, and we believe that we will follow his attack on the jubilee 20th victory this summer.
