Colby Covington and Jorge Masvidal made a five-round fight earlier this month, held at UFC 272 events.
Covington celebrated with a convincing referee's decision, and the fight was to serve as a calming of tensions between them and as a solution to what their rivalry had brought.
This did not happen, regardless of the fight and its outcome, what one feels towards the other has not changed. Announcements from both sides about what would happen if they met on the street were fierce and it was clear that they had no acting.
They really hate each other. This has now been confirmed on the street, as a close encounter has taken place. The information came from Sherdog and TMZ, and they reveal that the meeting took place when Covington and a friend, podcaster Bob Memery, were eating at a steakhouse in Miami.
According to the available information, Masvidal was not a guest of the bar, but he came at one point, after which there was a fight. We don't know exactly what he looked like and how serious it was, but we know that they were separated and the police were called to the scene.
TMZ thus came across a video taken in front of the restaurant, shortly after the incident, in which we see Covington, and at one point asked his friend Menery how Masvidal knew he was there.
Menery only briefly replied that he was everywhere on the internet so that it was possible that someone had seen and published it.
Jorge Masvidal Twitter post
Masvidal responded with a short video on Twitter, confirming that something had happened. "You can call this the 'Show Your Face' challenge. What's up? I'm from Dade County.
You can talk shit, but then you have to stand behind them. That's how my city works, man," Masvidal said. As stated, we do not have more detailed information about what happened. We can only draw some conclusions from Menery's post on Twitter.
From it we assume that Masvidal came to the restaurant with the obvious intention of making trouble. We can find out how successful he was these days when some witnesses come forward. It seems that Masvidal still can't come to terms with the fact that he lost the match, especially after Covington called him out a few months ago.
It will be interesting if the UFC arranges another match between the two. We can't imagine how many provocations there would be, and what another match would bring us
