RDA reacted to Cormier’s list of best boxers

Very often we write that the debate about the best boxer within the UFC is becoming more prevalent. So Daniel Cormier decided to compile his list as part of the DC&RC show. The retired MMA fighter has put together a list made up of five fighters.

DC tried to be smarter than most and put legendary boxer James Toney in the first place. He is a boxer with 92 professional appearances (77-10-3, 2 NC) and a multiple world champion. However, his MMA career is extremely modest and he has only performed once.

Randy Couture defeated him at the UFC 118 event by submission in the first round. It’s hard to say that James Toney isn’t the best boxer to have performed in the UFC, but it would be more appropriate to reduce the discussion to MMA fighters who have left some mark within the strongest MMA promotion.

Except for Toney, Max Holloway, Petr Yan, Conor McGregor, and Junior dos Santos found their place on Cormier's list. Among the many comments on ESPN’s official Instagram page (ESPN MMA), there were also interesting reviews of current UFC fighters.

Thus, former lightweight champion Rafael dos Anjos sarcastically commented that he was surprised that Khabib Nurmagomedov and Islam Makhachev were not on the list.

Diaz on the list

The Dagestanis are otherwise great friends and teammates of Daniel Cormier, and DC is increasingly accused of being biased while commenting on their fights and accomplishments.

Still, Islam Makhachev and Khabib Nurmagomedov are much better known for their wrestling skills and definitely don’t deserve their place on this list. Nate Diaz is also not thrilled with the list put together by Cormier.

One of the bigger UFC stars thinks Cormier is not competent at all to talk about boxing and boxing skills. He did not choose words and thinks that his list does not make sense and it is obvious that he gives preference to some other fighters.

‘‘ What do you know about boxing, DC? I'm s*itting on this list, "Nate Diaz wrote. There is a lot of disagreement about lists like this. Fighters like Anderson Silva, Dustin Poirier, Stipe Miocic, or Jorge Masvidal can also find their place on such lists, but tastes are different.

Still, Cormier’s order doesn’t seem to have suited particularly well to many. Yet we all have different opinions to be respected. It is certain that Cormier saw something in the fighters on the list when he decided to choose them.
