Bisping believes Usman should be afraid of Chimaev

The great Chechen Khamzat Chimaev has been enjoying a great "hype" since last year. However, problems with the coronavirus kept him out of the cage for a while. Still, after Saturday’s win against Jingliang, Chimaev has confirmed himself as a top fighter and there is no doubt that his next opponent should be someone from the Top 10, and many already see him as a future champion as well.

One of those who remained particularly enthusiastic was Michael Bisping. The retired fighter and former UFC middleweight champion, through his Youtube channel, commented on Chimaev's latest performance, as well as the situation in welterweight.

‘‘ Khamzat Chimaev, if you had any doubts, the man is the real thing. If you are a welterweight, be careful. If you are Kamaru Usman, the ‘P4P’ current champion, you have certainly paid attention to this guy (Chimaev)."

"He must have seen that fight on Saturday night and you said, ‘Okay, it’s possible we have a problem. We’ve got a serious challenger who will give me a real fight. ’’ Bisping began. Kamaru Usman is currently the champion, but on the night from Saturday to Sunday he will have a rematch against Colby Covington.

Fight with Chimaev

The great Covington, who offered great resistance in the first match, should not be underestimated. However, Bisping thinks Usman will get the job done, and then he can turn slightly to Chima. ‘‘ Of course, he (Usman) has to beat Colby this weekend, and I think he probably will.

But still, the point is that all eyes are on Khamzat Chimaev. " "That guy is unreal. What a freak and I say that in a positive way. Have the confidence to move forward and just grab Jingliang and throw him down."

"And that’s something he does in every fight. Four fights, four quick finishes, hit only once (significant blow). He will fight for the belt quickly. I think he needs another win, then he will be on five wins in a row and he will fight for the belt.

’’ Michael added. As for Khamzat’s next opponent, Nate Diaz, and Neil Magny, sometimes Michael Chiesa, are mentioned. Bisping does not see any of the above as the most logical option. Namely, the retired English fighter believes that Chimaev deserves a match against fourth-ranked challenger Vicente Luque.

‘‘ Vicente Luque is here. He needs a fight and has an awesome streak as well (four wins in a row). Luque can do the job anywhere. He’s versatile, has good jiu-jitsu, great stance, and trains with a bunch of killers at Sanford MMA Hall with Henry Hooft."

"For me, it’s a logical pairing. Vicente Luque would get a chance to fight someone who has all the ‘hype’, and a win would cement him as the next challenger. As for Khamzat, if he does the job, he will fight for the belt. ’’ Bisping concluded.
