Current heavyweight ruler Francis Ngannou will fight Ciryl Gane on January 22 next year. His opponent currently owns the belt for the interim category champion and their match will also be for the undisputed category champion.

There has been talk for a long time about a possible fight between Jon Jones and Ngannou, but in the end, Gane will still be the fighter against whom Ngannou will seek the first defense of the belt. Jon Jones is still preparing for his move to the heavyweight division, and we’ll be watching him in the cage probably in mid-2022.

However, problems outside the cage are not in his favor, and a few days ago there was information that he was thrown out of JacksonWink Hall because of the last incident in which he physically clashed with his fiancée.

Ngannou vs Jones

Francis Ngannou would love to fight Jones because "Bones" is one of the greatest fighters in the history of the sport. During a guest appearance at the MMA Hour, Ariel Helwani asked Francis if his fight against Gane was as exciting as a possible fight against Jones.

"Not really, but it's a good fight. You need to be aware of the dangers in every fight. He’s a good opponent, but he’s not at the level of Jon Jones if that’s what you’re asking. It's not the same to fight Jones and Gane, '' Predator replied, and then looked at the chances of a match with Jones ever happening.

'' At the moment I don't know much about what will happen in the future. I don’t stress about it. Whatever happens, will happen. I hope we do that fight, but I’m not sure anymore. Everything will be okay. There are a lot of good fights I can do, so it doesn't matter what happens, '' Ngannou added.

The fight between Jon Jones and Francis Ngannou would certainly be one of the biggest in UFC history. However, Ciryl Gane should not be underestimated in any way and he is a fighter who definitely deserves to fight for the belt at this moment.

This could certainly be an additional motivation for Gane who, although not a favorite, could show how much talent and knowledge he possesses, and a win against Ngannou would certainly be the best answer to his statements.

Ngannou is number one in their category for now and Gane will certainly have the toughest task of his career, but just such tasks most UFC fighters like
