We heard good news after the just-held weigh-in for the upcoming UFC event that we’ll be watching Saturday night through Sunday night. 23 out of a total of 24 participants in the event met the prescribed weights for the categories in which they perform, and the only drop occurred with Mane Martinez, a bantamweight fighter and actor of the introductory fight of the evening.

The 25-year-old Argentine will fight Guido Cannetti and will also make his debut for the world's strongest MMA promotion. Martinez was originally scheduled to fight Trevin Jones last weekend, but was first presented by COVID-19 protocols and then hit by the death of his coach Saul Soliz.

The fight against Cannetti is in a way also a short notice because Martinez jumped in instead of Mario Bautista, who was positive for COVID-19 ten days ago. The Argentine debutant on the scales weighed 140 ‘pounds’, i.e.

four 4 ‘pounds’ (1.81 kg) over the allowable bantamweight limit. The fight will take place, but Martinez must give up 30 percent of his honorarium. The remaining participants, including the actors of the main fight of the evening, were satisfied at the weigh-in.

Edson Barboza weighed exactly 145 'pounds' and, as always, looked extremely "cut". Georgian Giga Chikadze weighed half a pound more. Both fighters appeared on the scales very quickly, and Chikadze was literally the first to step on the scales.

The TUF finalists also met the prescribed weights without any major problems. So, everything is ready for the UFC on ESPN 30 event which starts on Sunday, one hour after midnight.
