Dana White confirmed: Covington vs Usman!

It seems that Dana White has finally decided to resolve all doubts about Kamaru Usman’s next fight. After the rematch with Jorge Masvidal, the current UFC welterweight champion will have a rematch with - Colby Covington.

At least that's the plan that the UFC president outlined in an Instagram LIVE interview with Kevin Iole, a Yahoo! Sports. This is a fight that has been talked about since December 2019, ie UFC 245, where Usman defended his title for the first time against Covington.

It was if you forgot, and hardly is, a phenomenal and action-packed clash that ended in a technical knockout in the last minute of the fifth round. Since that day, Kamaru had three more victories (Masvidal, Gilbert Burns, Masvidal), while the always controversial 'Chaos' has played only one match, the one against the former welterweight king, Tyron Woodley.

Covington has been waiting 18 months for this fight. Colby persistently claimed that he was the toughest possible exam for Usman, but also that he was robbed in their first match. Namely, the first-ranked challenger repeatedly pointed out that Marc Goddard stopped the match too early, and reprimanded the famous English referee for several situations in which he allowed Usman a break due to an "illegal" shot, although at least once it seemed that the current champion did not deserve that break.

More information about Usman vs. Covington 2, like the date and location, we still don't know.

Who is your favorite in the rematch? Certainly, this is good news for all UFC fans but also for Colby Covington who has been eagerly awaiting this kind of information.

Colby Covington will try to use the opportunity that was given to him and thus take revenge on Usman, who managed to beat him a couple of years ago. Covington will have huge motivation and desire to come to a victory, especially because he believes that he was stolen in their previous match.

Still, it won't be easy for him. Usman is a tough opponent and can easily solve the match with one move. Indeed, any fighter has little chance against Usman who looks unstoppable and could remain listed as one of the UFC’s greatest fighters.

In this match, the title of favorite is held by Usman, as expected. Surely most are excited before a match like this that could be a long-awaited spectacle. The only question is whether Covington can make a surprise
