Miocic vs Ngannou: Ngannou has a motive to win

After the siren marked the end of the last fight of the UFC on the ESPN 21 show, it was clear that in terms of UFC fighting nothing separates us from UFC 260, a show that brings a heavyweight title fight on March 27, a rematch between Stipe Miocic and Francis Ngannou.

For this reason, it should come as no surprise that the UFC posted a Countdown announcement on its YouTube channel already during the broadcast of the said event. This time a little shorter, ie. without the part devoted to the co-title struggle, since the same has in the meantime been canceled.

But in 23 minutes and 28 seconds, we have the opportunity to remember everything about the first fight between Miočić and Ngannou, held in January 2018, and what happened after that, until this great rematch. Next to the new fight, they both had (another) unexpected downfall, but after that also they rise like a phoenix.

Last fight

It is not unexpected what Ngannou says about the first fight. He thinks that something like that came to him too soon, that the attention he received distracted him and made him feel overwhelmed and better than he is.

He even got to say that at the beginning of the fight he enjoyed the fact that it would all be behind him soon. And he adds that because of that he was not the right one in the Octagon, and that carried over to his next fight, in which he was defeated by Derrick Lewis.

Stipe, on the other hand, is still not a man of many words. He believes that he knows what to expect from Francis and how to respond to it, and he is convinced that the outcome of the fight will not be any different from when they first met.

Stipe currently bears the title of the greatest UFC heavyweight of all time, and winning this fight would nail it firmly to the rock for a long time, no matter what happens in the next fights. Kudos to the fights of Arlovski and Sylvia, Velasquez and Dos Santos, or Miočić and Cormier.

This is something special though!

Ngannou certainly has a huge desire for revenge and proving that he is now a much better fighter than he was then, while Miocic wants to confirm that he is number 1 and that no one can match him.
