UFC fighter Irwin Rivera tried to kill his two sisters

According to the information originally presented by MMA journalist Mike Kowal, and subsequently reported in more detail by ESPN, police in Boynton Beach, Florida, arrested and detained 31-year-old Irwin Rivera. He is a bantamweight MMA fighter under contract with the UFC, in whose Octagon he has done three fights so far.

Rivera was arrested on two counts of attempted murder. What is particularly disturbing is the fact that the victims are his two sisters. The 22-year-old and 33-year-old were found with multiple stab wounds, after which they were sent to the hospital and are out of life danger.

The media came to an official police report, which contains details of the crime. A 22-year-old woman was originally found lying bloody along the road, with multiple stab wounds in the back, head, and arm area. She managed to tell the police that she was stabbed and that her older sister, who was also attacked, was in the house.

The 33-year-old was also found in the house in a pool of blood, with stab wounds in similar places as her younger sister. Neighbors have already testified, revealing how one of the sisters came to their door and asked for help, and they also identified Irwin Rivera as the committer.

He thought his sisters were dead

They said that at one point they saw him covered in blood and that he told them that everything was fine and that they should close the door. It is assumed that it was these neighbors who called the police, who came when Rivera had already left the house.

As for Rivera himself, he confessed to the crime after being contacted by the police. He said he entered the room where his sisters slept in the morning and started stabbing them with a knife. He stated that he did so because of an order given to him by a higher power.

Convinced that the sisters were dead, he said he had killed them. Rivera was born in Mexico, and as a professional MMA fighter, he recorded ten wins and six losses. He joined the UFC in last year’s “post lockdown” period, as the star of the Titan FC promotion.

In his first appearance, in May last year, he was defeated by Giga Chikadze, after which he recorded a victory against Ali AlQuasia and the last defeat by a split decision against Andrea Ewell. It was in September. As for River’s MMA career, it’s not hard to conclude that his career is done, as his free man “career” is probably over.

Life will certainly, if his guilt for this crime is confirmed, continue in one of the institutions, and whether it will be criminal or mental nature will be decided by the court of the federal state of Florida.
