The rising UFC lightweight contender Renato Moicano recently claimed a dominating win against Drew Dober that will allow him to fight a well-known opponent from the division. Moicano was initially looking forward to fighting Paddy Pimblett, but he thinks the UFC won’t make it happen, and that is why he is now prepared with a backup option: Beneil Dariush.
Renato Moicano wants to be featured in the upcoming UFC 301 event scheduled to take place in Brazil. One of these pivotal fights can place Renato Moicano above most of the lightweight contenders in the rankings table.
Renato Moicano on fighting Beneil Dariush
In the CFFC 129 Broadcast, Renato Moicano shared his thoughts on fighting Beneil Dariush instead of Paddy Pimblett.
“Give me the microphone right now because I have something to say,” Moicano said as quoted by mmajunkie.usatoday.com. “Hey Paddy Pimblett, you’re a *. I will beat your *. I’m sorry for cursing on national TV, but this guy sucks.
And let me tell you something, UFC doesn’t have the balls to put me against him. Somebody just texted me Beneil Dariush is saying he’s better than me in every aspect of the game. There is only (one) way to prove. If UFC doesn’t have the balls to put me against Paddy Pimblett, Beneil Dariush prove yourself in Brazil against ‘The Money Man’ Moicano”.
Renato Moicano has earned the position to demand these fights. If Moicano fights Paddy Pimblett, he could get a lot more public exposure because of how famous Pimblett is; by fighting and winning against Beneil Dariush, Renato Moicano will easily enter the top 10 lightweight rankings.
Moicano’s unusual post-fight interview is a source of entertainment for many; it will be interesting to see how he performs in his upcoming matches. He could show up 2-3 times this year.
