Leon Edwards seems to have nothing but respect for Conor McGregor, which explains why Edwards performs the ‘Billionaire Strut’ after the end of some fights just like Conor McGregor. Edwards recognizes the contribution and positive influence McGregor has had on the sport of MMA.

Leon Edwards appreciates Conor McGregor for whatever he has done within the sport, but when it comes to acts outside the UFC, Edwards is least concerned, and that’s where he is not really an ‘admirer.’ Conor McGregor always wanted to leave a mark in the welterweight division, and as far as records are concerned, McGregor is unbeaten in the welterweight division.

It will be interesting to see if Conor McGregor ever ends up facing Leon Edwards in the cage.

Leon Edwards on Conor McGregor

Recently on Upfront With Simon Jordan podcast, Leon Edwards talks about Conor McGregor’s accomplishments inside the UFC.

“I think he’s great for the sport,” Edwards said, as quoted by mmajunkie.usatoday.com. “He has definitely brought the sport forward to the casual fans. He is one of those guys that you either like him or you don’t like him, but he is who he is.

What he’s achieved in the sport, you can’t take away from him. He did become the first ever two-division world champion. So even though he talks all that* , he is actually a good fighter, as well, behind it. He definitely helped the sport.

He didn’t take nothing away from it. He definitely gave more in terms of pushing it into the mainstream.

Leon Edwards on McGregor’s legal battles

I’m not an admirer of his, I’m judging him from the competitive part of it, the self-promotion part of it.

His personal life is his own business. I couldn’t give two * about his personal life. It’s more about what he’s achieved in the game, his self-promotion part of it. To each their own. He’s not my mate”.
