The new UFC middleweight champion, Dricus Du Plessis, is ready to make his return as early as he possibly can. Du Plessis is considering fighting at UFC 300 and will be ready to participate if his doctors give him a green light.
Du Plessis is crystal clear about fighting Israel Adesanya next, and it will be interesting to see if Adesanya can actually make his return this year and reclaim his middleweight belt.

Both fighters are eagerly waiting to make this fight happen in Africa. Sean Strickland may not get an immediate rematch; he may fight a top contender from the division before getting a title fight opportunity. According to some fans and MMA experts, Sean Strickland was the real winner, as it was difficult for them to digest the split decision being in Du Plessis’ favour.

Dricus Du Plessis on his next fight

Recently on ECNA news, Dricus Du Plessis shared his thoughts on fighting at UFC 300 and explained how he’s waiting to fight at home. “Nothing is certain yet, but that is what we want to do,” Du Plessis said, as quoted by mmajunkie.usatoday.com ."UFC 300 is a big possibility if my body allows it.

I took some punishment obviously with some small injuries. I’m not 100 percent sure what the gravity of those injuries are. I’m going to the doctor after this and making sure concussion tests are done, making sure we do the scans, making sure that there’s nothing serious injured.

Then UFC 300 is a big, big possibility. I have to be honest with you, if UFC Africa is going to happen, you’re going to look very far beyond to find a more perfect fight than me vs. Israel Adesanya and that’s a fight I want right here on home soil where he said he wants to make it happen”.
