The middleweight clash between Sean Strickland and Dricus Du Plessis was absolutely explosive; Strickland couldn’t sustain his position as the UFC middleweight champion as Du Plessis outplayed him and claimed a split-decision win.

In the span of 14 months, the middleweight division has had 4 different champions. It will be interesting to see who can seal their position as the king of the division for a respectable amount of time. Du Plessis is crystal clear about what he wants next; he looks forward to finishing unfinished business with Israel Adesanya.

Dricus Du Plessis’ post-fight interview

During the post-fight interview, Dricus Du Plessis reflected a little on the injuries he faced during the fight and mentioned fighting Israel Adesanya next.

“I look like a cauliflower now. But yeah, I’m pretty banged up right now,” Du Plessis said, as quoted by mmafighting.com. "I’m up for another round if they want to go, yeah, I don’t want to put a timeline on it, but UFC 300 sounds amazing”.
