Jack Della Maddalena has had a fantastic UFC career so far; he will be facing one of the toughest tests of his career, Gilbert Burns, on 9th March. It's a must win for both fighters, especially if securing a title fight is a worthy aim.

Gilbert Burns recognizes that the challenge ahead is far from easy; he labelled Maddallena's fighting style "a little bit scary". 3 knockouts, 1 submission and 2 split decisions sum up his career so far, and it will be interesting to see the outcome of their upcoming match.

Gilbert Burns on his next fight

Recently on The JAXXON Podcast, Gilbert Burns shared his thoughts on getting a title shot again and expressed his genuine opinion on his next opponent Jack Della Maddallena.

"Colby (Covington) just fought. He's not going to fight for a while," Burns said, as quoted by "Leon (Edwards) just won. Belal (Muhammad) is next. Kamaru (Usman) is not fighting right now. If we're kind of looking for the numbers, a lot of guys that the number makes sense (to fight me), they're not there.

So the way I see it, I'm coming from a loss. I've got to go in there and get a win, and then I'm in the conversation again".

Gilbert Burns compares Maddallena to Paulo Costa

"This guy is very tough, He's 6-0 in the UFC. He's got crazy knockouts, good boxer, heavy boxer – he's not just a regular boxer.

He rips the guys' bodies. He comes forward kind of like (Paulo) Costa. He fights coming forward, rips the body – so the guy is a good (fighter). He's that guy that is very tough, that is a little bit scary. I like that, when I feel like, 'Oh, * – if I'm not 100 percent, * might get crazy'"
