Michael Chandler does feel the itch of waiting; however, he is also patiently waiting for his opportunity. Conor McGregor is expected to show up in 2024; he will most likely fight Michael Chandler next. This promises to be one of McGregor’s greatest comebacks of his career.

The test is not going to be easy, as Michael Chandler is a formidable opponent who has what it takes to keep McGregor chained to the losing streak. Chandler guarantees that the match with Conor will take place next year, but as of now, nothing concrete can be disclosed.

Michael Chandler on waiting for the McGregor fight

“[Have I been] frustrated at times? Absolutely. Annoyed? Maybe a little bit here and there,” Chandler said, as quoted by mmafighting.com. “Because we get that rush, we love fighting, we love competing.

So anytime I find myself being frustrated, I believe I’m always able to go back to my north star that, hey, it’s going to work out the way it’s going to, just like me coming to the UFC. That door stayed closed until it was time for that door to open.

The door opening for this fight with Conor, whenever it’s finally supposed to be, it will be, and I’m just being at peace in the midst of the waiting”.

Michael Chandler on UFC 300

"To anybody out there who like ticked off today, I’m sorry, but I just don’t have any information.

Obviously that [UFC 300] would be a dream scenario. That’s when I would like to fight, where I would like to fight, who I would want to fight. Chandler vs. Conor is happening. I don’t have a date or a location or a UFC number for you, but it’s definitely going to happen next year".
