The UFC lightweight division is filled with rising contenders; a few good examples would be fighters like Bobby Green and Paddy Pimblett. Interestingly, Paddy Pimblett called out Bobby Green. As far as rankings are concerned, Bobby Green is ranked 13th in the lightweight division, and Paddy Pimblett has yet to enter the top 15 rankings.

This is why a fight with Bobby Green spiked Paddy's interest, as a win against him would fulfil his goal of entering the rankings. Bobby Green was supposed to fight Dan Hooker, but that match got canceled. Bobby Green does not rule out the possibility of a match with Paddy Pimblett; however, he wants to talk about it only if Paddy successfully beats Tony Ferguson.

Bobby Green on Paddy Pimblett’s call out

During the recent media day, Bobby Green shared his thoughts on fighting Paddy Pimblett. “There’s no way he called me out,” Green said, as quoted by

“Paddy know that’s a bad fight for him. He don’t want that. He’s just talking. He’s just talking, OK? Until he starts walking, get through Tony (Ferguson), and we’ll talk. We’ll talk after that.

But Paddy don’t want that. It would be a bad fight for him. I feel like Tony’s going to probably pull something close to the third – closer to that second, third round,” Green said. “He pushes a good pace.

He comes really hard and takes good shots, so if Paddy doesn’t get him on the ground and tries to do some jiu-jitsu, I see Tony getting him. Tony hits pretty good too”. Paddy Pimblett will face Tony Ferguson on 16th December; this is a must-win for Tony Ferguson. It will be fascinating to see if Ferguson can escape from the losing streak that he is so badly chained to.
