The debate over the greatest mixed martial artist of all time (MMA GOAT) is one that has raged for years, with no clear consensus. There are many factors to consider when making such a decision, including a fighter's overall record, their dominance in a particular weight class, their ability to adapt and their impact on the sport as a whole.

Recently, former UFC flyweight champion Demetrious Johnson entered the debate, placing himself second only to Jon Jones. Johnson, considered one of the greatest fighters in UFC history, defended his position by pointing to his unprecedented feats in the flyweight division, including a record 11 consecutive title defenses.

He also acknowledged Jones' incredible talent and dominance, stating that he is the only fighter he would put above him. "In the second place, my little one.

No one has done what I have done in the flyweight division, or in any other division. Eleven consecutive title defenses, I created a move never before seen in MMA, the 'Mighty Whizzbar' I have wins by knockout, submissions, decisions, split decisions, whatever you want to call it,'' Johnson said on his YouTube channel.

"As for number one, for me it's Jon 'Bones' Jones. That's the only man I'd put above me because that guy, I feel like he's going to destroy an opponent every time he's in the cage and he's going to do it the way he wants to.

He won with knockouts, put people to sleep, decisions, everything on the list,'' he added. While there's no doubt that both Johnson and Jones are exceptional athletes, there are plenty of other fighters who have also staked their claim as MMA's GOAT.

Fighters like Anderson Silva, Georges St-Pierre and Fedor Emelianenko have all made their mark on the sport, and each has a claim to a title. At the end of the day, who is the MMA GOAT is a matter of personal opinion. There is no right or wrong answer, and every fan is entitled to their choice.
