The welterweight contender Michael Morales is on a steady rise; he very recently faced Jake Matthews and showcased a dominating performance. After three rounds of action, the judges declared Michael Morales the winner by unanimous decision.

It is worth knowing that Michael Morales is currently undefeated, with a professional MMA record of 16-0 (4-0 in the UFC). Michael Morales is just 1-2 wins away from being featured in the top 15 rankings; he looks forward to fighting in the UFC 299 card where Marlon Vera vs Sean O’Malley II is headlined as the main event; this card will take place on 9th March 2024.

It will be interesting to see if the UFC can grant his wish; Morales should hope to face a contender from the top 15 next.

Michael Morales on his future fight

In a recent post-fight press conference, Michael Morales revealed that he wants to fight in the UFC 299 card and reflected a little on his win against Jake Matthews.

“I would like to get the opportunity to make my return for ‘Chito’s fight against O’Malley,” Morales said as quoted by mmajunkie.usatoday.com. “It’s a great event, and I’d like to share that with him.

It would be two Ecuadorians representing Latin America. If the opportunity does happen, I will give it my all in whatever fight I get. I will be prepared”. Morales on his fight against Jake Matthews: “I felt relaxed, and I felt good the entire fight, we analyzed the fight very well.

Funny, everything my trainer told me, that’s what Jake Matthews did. The hooks, the kicks, everything. I was able to deal with it well. The strikes that he connected didn’t do much damage. It was a good fight that I made and a good strategy that we had in place”.
