All MMA fans worldwide have been eagerly waiting to see Jon Jones and Francis Ngannou clash inside the ring. The face-off between the two at a PFL event sparked even more interest in people. Unfortunately, fans may not be able to see that fight take place anytime soon as Dana White clearly addressed that he is not interested in doing business with PFL.
Never say never; the chances for the fight between Francis Ngannou and Jon Jones to take place are very slim, but anything can happen. As for now, fans will have to adjust to Jon Jones vs Stipe Miocic. Francis Ngannou looks forward to fighting Tyson Fury for the rematch, after which he will make his PFL debut.
Jon Jones will most probably retire after his next fight; however, he confirmed that he will postpone retirement if Francis Ngannou somehow shows up to fight him.
Dana White on co-promoting with the PFL
During the recent post-fight press conference, Dana White gave a clear answer to a reporter who asked him if he would be willing to co-promote with the PFL for the highly-anticipated clash between Francis Ngannou and Jon Jones.
“I’m not interested in that,” White said, as quoted by mmajunkie.usatoday.com. “We tried to make that fight. They didn’t want to do it. It’s done. He doesn’t fight here anymore. I’m not interested.
Should I (co-promote with PFL)? We’ve got 1, 2 and 3 (in MSG history). They can’t sell a gate. It’s a stupid question, but go ahead. Talk to me. Why would I do that? I tried to make the fight here. They didn’t want to do it.
But I should co-promote with like a Bellator or a PFL? Why should I do that? Because of ESPN? You win the dumb question of the night. Congratulations, sir”.
