The submission master Muhammed Mokaev remains to be undefeated after claiming a fabulous 3rd round submission win against the well experienced Tim Elliot. Mokaev is now the 10th ranked flyweight contender, and after the recent win, he has updated his professional record to 11-0.
Mokaev is ambitious about the future; he wants to fight someone from the top 5 and also wants the UFC to consider him as the backup fighter for the upcoming flyweight title fight between Alexandre Pantoja and Brandon Rovyal.
Mokaev is only a few more comprehensive wins away from getting a shot to fight for the prestigious flyweight belt.
Mohammed Mokaev on what’s next
In the post fight interview, Mohammed Mokaev shared his thoughts on the win and explained what he wants next in his thriving career.
“I needed to finish Tim Elliott,” Mokaev said as quoted by mmafighting.com. “Now I’m 5-0 in the UFC with four finishes and most winning streak in the division. Give me Kai Kara-France or the title. Kai Kara-France, Amir Albazi, Manel Kape, anyone”.
Muhammed Mokaev believes he should be the backup fighter for the upcoming flyweight clash because he claims to have never missed weight for a fight. “I’m ready,” Mokaev said, as quoted by mmajunkie.usatoday.com.
“I’ve never missed weight – even in my debut against Cody Durden I made championship weight. I can make it. If they want, I can be backup – whatever fight they want”. Mokaev further said: “Amazing emotions, I feel very happy.
I still don’t believe I’ve put my full performance yet. They tried to bully me. They don’t try to fight me with fight IQ. These guys think, ‘OK, this young, overhyped, fifth time overhyped inside the UFC octagon …’ They don’t work smart. That’s why I just have to grind them out”.
