Dana White spoke at the press conference before FN 229, he talked about many things as well as the event itself, but what attracted the most attention was his speech regarding the return of former champion and UFC superstar Conor McGregor.
He told the reporters present that McGregor submitted the necessary papers to take the USADA drug test. Now it's been over two years since this popular Irishman has fought, besides the UFC director, everyone is eagerly awaiting his return.
“He is not officially in the USADA pool,” White told reporters including MMA Junkie at a UFC Fight Night 229 pre-fight news conference Saturday. “He submitted the paperwork. Probably by Monday, he’ll be submitted.
Again, don’t hold me to that. But the paperwork is submitted next week sometime”.
The news that Conor McGregor submitted his papers to USADA made all his fans happy
It's been a long time since Conor broke his leg in 2021, he hasn't fought since.
After his recovery, problems were caused by USADA drug tests, which McGregor avoided. Looking at his training videos from social networks, we can say that the Irishman has returned to his former form, at least as we saw in the videos he often publishes from the gym.
"I literally have nothing planned with Conor McGregor right now,” White said. “The paperwork is being submitted. We’ll play it by ear, see how things work out. There’s still a lot of things that have to happen as far as fights go.
Then we’ll see where he’s going to land”. as quoted by MMAJunkie Conor McGregor has been hard at work coaching his team on “The Ultimate Fighter 31” lately. The coach of the opposing team is a well-known name, Michael Chandler, every time sparks fly between the two of them, so the story circulated that a match between these two experienced fighters will take place.
However, even though the Irishman submitted the papers to the USADA, the rule of this agency is that at least half a year they do random tests on fighters in order to get permission to compete. Anyway, if this fight happens, it will surely be one of the most watched matches of the next year.
