Sean O'Malley recently became the UFC bantamweight champion in a title fight that took place on Aug. 19 at UFC 292. What a great performance that night from this popular Irishman, who presented himself in the best light. That night he defeated the now former champion Aljamain Sterling.

The fight started intensively with a lot of attractive moves, but already in 51 seconds of the second round, O'Malley finished his opponent and became the new bantamweight champion. It's certainly a well-deserved victory, because this was perhaps O'Malley's best fight.

Aljamain Sterling wants a rematch as soon as possible

Former champion Aljamain Sterling called out the Irishman and said that he chooses his opponents. If it turns out to be true that Sean O'Malley will defend his belt against Marlon Vera for the first time, it will cause great anger in Sterling.

He asks the current champion to fight against him or against Merab Dvalishvili, because those two are the 2 main candidates, because they are second and third place after the champion. He added that if Sean O'Malley chooses his opponents like that, their division will become less interesting.

He emphasizes that it is always necessary for a champion to fight often and against the best of the best.
“I’ve got a message for Mr. ‘Sugar Tits,’ because he’s still that to me,” Sterling said, calling out O’Malley.

“Hey, give me my rematch or fight Merab. It’s that simple. Stop ducking the top contenders and be a man and be a real champ and fight the best of the best. That’s what I did. Now you need to turn around and do the same exact sh*t”.

as quoted by MMAJunkie It remains unclear who will be the next challenger for the belt, but certainly everyone would like to see a rematch against Sterling. A great charge has already been created, so there would be great interest in this match. In the coming days, we should find out who will be the next challenger for the belt.
