Usman Nurmagomedov had an interesting interview on ESPN. The journalist had really good questions for him that interest the audience as well. However, what attracted the most attention was his comment on the upcoming match in the Lightweight division.

Oct. 21 at Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi at UFC 296 lightweight champion and Usman's compatriot Islam Makhachev (24-1 MMA, 13-1 UFC) will fight Charles Oliveira (34-9 MMA, 22-9 UFC) again. So this is a rematch, and the first match was won by the Dagestani in October last year at UFC 180.

That match caused a lot of controversy, and many people claimed that Islam did not deserve this victory, but that he was very lucky. Makhachev's training partner Nurmagomedov is sure of his compatriot and believes that Islam will now beat him much easier than in the last match.

“I think it’s going to be the same thing,” Nurmagomedov told ESPN. “Of course, Charles Oliveira – maybe he’s going to fix some mistakes. This is a fight. Something can happen. But I know Islam is training very hard.

He’s very smart. He can wrestle, strike and grapple, too. I don’t think Charles Oliveira can give him some hard situation”. as quoted by MMAJunkie

Usman Nurmagomedov is surely the new big name in MMA, does the Dagestani native once join the UFC?

Usman Nurmagomedov himself has a very good MMA career, although many MMA fans have not heard of him, perhaps because he is in the shadow of his more famous brother Khabib, who is considered by many to be the best fighter of all time.

It's really surprising how little interest there is in Usman because he himself is the lightweight champion in Bellator where he defends his belt against Brent Primus Oct. 7 at Pechanga Arena in San Diego. “In the striking, I think I’m better than him,” Nurmagomedov said of Primus.

“Wrestling, I’m better than him. Grappling, I think I’m not bad. I’m good. My grappling is, of course, not like Khabib or Islam high-level, but not bad. Even if you see my last fight with Benson Henderson, I take his back and I finish him. It will be a hard five rounds, and I will try to finish this guy every round”.
