Khamzat Chimaev is a very well-known name to everyone, an undefeated champion and a big global star. On his YouTube channel, he talked about the fight between Sean Strickland and Israel Adesanya. He praised Strickland a lot, said he deservedly took the belt from Adesanya.

Chimaev then added that he expected that result, because he thinks that Adesanya has lost the desire that once graced him. Interestingly, Sean Strickland (28-5 MMA, 15-5 UFC) also made a similar statement to Chimaev after his victory at UFC 293.

Khamzat believes that Sean Strickland has earned his title through hard work

The two trained together before Xtreme Couture in Las Vegas. This is the reason why Chimaev knows the new champion so well, and that is why he praised his dedication and said that it is expected that in a certain period of time Sean Strickland will become the champion.

“He works hard, deserves it,” Chimaev said on his YouTube channel. “The guy is always in the gym. Now he’s got the belt. He has a good team, good coach. I have been there, training with that guy. They deserve that belt.

He has been active, fights with everybody”. as quoted by MMAJunkie After that Chimaev talked about himself, about his training camp before the upcoming fight with Paulo Costa (14-2 MMA, 6-2 UFC) in the UFC 294 co-main event on Oct.

21 at the Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi. Really tricky against for the undefeated Khamzat, but still according to the bookies Khamzat is a slight favourite. This fight will take place in the middleweight category.
“Now it’s my time,” Chimaev said.

“Smash that guy (Costa), then it doesn’t matter if it will be Izzy or Strickland or somebody else, we coming for them. Strickland! Coming for him. If you stay there, man, I’m coming for you, too”.
