Aleksandar Rakic (14-3 MMA, 6-2 UFC) is slowly recovering from the injury he suffered in his last fight. He started with light training and hopes that he will be fully ready to return to the Octagon very soon. He had a lot to say about his recovery from his injury, but what interests the MMA public the most is Rakic's next opponent.
Many names are being speculated, but Rakic claims that if he doesn't have a fight for the title, his wish is to fight again with Jan Blachowicz because he believes that the saga is not over.
Aleksandar Rakic: I would like to fight Jan Blachowicz again, nothing is over yet
“If you ask me which fight I would love the most if it’s not a title fight, I would love to run it back with Jan because the chapter is not closed,” Rakic said on Sirius XM’s Fight Nation.
“I was in the best shape of my life and I really didn’t lose the fight because he was the better man on that night. My coaches are telling me, ‘Alex, you beat yourself.’ For me, this chapter is not closed.
But we will see what the UFC wants”. as quoted by MMAJunkie. He expressed his desire to fight as soon as possible because the best MMA fighters have forgotten that he is also in the game. Aleksandar Rakic thinks that top fighters are not happy because he is successfully recovering and because they know that he can screw up their accounts.
He pointed out that now the most important thing is to fully recover, return to factory settings and get a worthy opponent for the next fight. He promised that he would train hard and that for that the UFC would reward him, if not with a shot at the title, then at least with an opponent tailored for him.
“I need to remind the guys in the top that I’m still here and that I’m potentially a guy who’s fighting for the title,” Rakic said.
