The crucial lightweight clash between Grant Dawson and Bobby Green is scheduled to take place on the 7th of October at the UFC Apex; it is going to a be decider, which is why it’s an important match for both the fighters as one will fall and one will rise.
Bobby is on a steady incline and seems to be just a few steps away from leveling up his game; his recent win against Tony Ferguson was a significant one. Grant Dawson has never tasted a defeat in the UFC; it will be interesting to see if he can extend his winning streak.
This could turn out to be the toughest test for both fighters; Dawson is confident in his abilities as a fighter and can foresee himself becoming the lightweight champion of the world by 2025.
Grant Dawson on fighting Bobby Green
Recently on MMA Junkie Radio, Grant Dawson shared his thoughts on fighting Bobby Green and revealed his plans for the future.
“I’m not fighting backwards in this fight, I’m not fighting forward, I’m just fighting,” Dawson said, as quoted by mmajunkie.usatoday.com. “That’s what it is. Islam Makhachev got a title shot off of beating Bobby Green, so anything can happen in this sport.
“I know how dangerous he is. I know how much experience he has. I know what a big following he has. I am ready for a very, very competitive and a very, very strong fight. I don’t like it when people are like, ‘Oh, you’re fighting behind.’ There is no fighting behind.
Dawson on what’s after Bobby Green: We’re just fighting, that’s it. The only spot that matters is who’s champion. That is really the only thing that matters. After Bobby Green – obviously I’m only focused on Bobby Green, but after Bobby Green, we’re looking to fight against Dan Hooker.
Assuming everything goes well, and I think that would be one of my breakout performances. As long as I keep winning, I don’t think that they’ll be able to deny me much longer. I think that by the end of 2025, we will have a new champion and his name will be Grant Dawson”.
