Brandon Moreno thinks it’s absolutely pointless for the new UFC flyweight champion, Alexandre Pantoja, to call out Sean O’Malley. Pantoja wants to fight Sean O’Malley, and it will be interesting to see if the UFC can arrange that.

Pantoja will most likely defend his belt once before this year ends, if not in the starting phase of 2024. Sean O’Malley has a wide list of options to select from to defend his belt, so a match with Pantoja seems unlikely to happen, but never say never; the UFC is full of surprises.

Moreno wants to avenge his bitter loss against Pantoja and reclaim his flyweight belt. Moreno may have to fight a top contender and secure a comprehensive win to demand another title shot.

Brandon Moreno on Alexandre Pantoja’s call out

In a recent interview with The Schmo, the former flyweight champion Brandon Moreno shared his thoughts on Alexandre Pantoja calling out Sean O’Malley and talks about how fighting for the title again.

“I’m not trying to be disrespectful, but unfortunately for Pantoja, I don’t think anybody cares about that fight,” Moreno said as quoted by mmajunkie.usatoday.com. “I think Sean O’Malley has another business in the future with (Aljamain Sterling) or Merab (Dvalishvili) or (Marlon) ‘Chito’ (Vera).

So let’s see what UFC decides for us. I’m ready for the rematch if the UFC wants that”. Moreno further said: “I know Brandon Royval is there, he’s doing an amazing job. But I’m just thinking of myself.

I think I deserve the opportunity, too. I’ve been working hard and last fight was this close, and I have my own arguments to say I deserve the next fight for the title. But this is the business of the UFC. I’m just a hard worker trying to get extra money for my toys and my family”.
