Marlon Vera is ready to make his 3rd appearance of the year; he is already training and is expecting to show up in December. The new UFC bantamweight champion Sean O’Malley showed interest in defending his belt against Marlon Vera next, but that is yet to be officially confirmed; Vera recently said that he hasn’t heard anything from Sean O’Malley or his team.
Marlon Vera wants to show up in December against anyone; a rematch with Sean O’Malley would be ideal, but it will be interesting to see who the UFC matches him up against if he fails to get a title fight with O’Malley.
Henry Cejudo vs Marlon Vera would be an exciting match up. Cejudo needs one more win before he can demand a title shot again.
Marlon Vera on his fight with Sean O’Malley
During a recent Q & A session, Marlon Vera shed some light on a possible fight with Sean O’Malley.
Vera is confident in his abilities and explains what he will do to Sean O’Malley in the rematch. “I just keep getting better, keep training, staying in better shape,” Vera said, as quoted by mmajunkie.usatoday.com.
“Show up a little faster than I was before, (with) better technique than I had before. If I can improve a little bit from what I was in the fight before, that’s all I need to be. He’s a good fighter. He have the belt right now, but make no mistake, I’m going to kick his *** again”.
Vera further said: “As of now, they haven’t said anything yet, I’m preparing as (if) I am fighting in December. You know, why not? I mean, the guy was talking about fighting and stuff like that. Now he’s backing out.
I guess when you’re a champion, you can call the shots, so let’s see what that ***** want to do”.
