The featherweight contender Gabriel Miranda has had a balanced journey in the UFC so far, he made his debut last in September against Benoit Saint Denis, and in what looked like a tough contest, he, Miranda, got knocked in the second round.
After facing a loss on his UFC debut, he made a comeback last weekend against Shane Young and secured a beautiful 1st round 1st minute submissions win. Gabriel Miranda has a professional MMA record of 17-6; he seems to have big goals for the future.
He aspires to share the ring with the top featherweight contender, Ilia Topuria; to reach that level, he will have to claim a few more convincing wins as Topuria is significantly ahead in the race. It is worth knowing that the two have a history and have known each other from before.
Ilia Topuria firm-mindedly wants to fight Alexander Volkanovski for the title shot, and the champion seems to be willing to grant his wish. Volkanovski Addressed that he is ready to defend his belt against Ilia Topuria.

Gabriel Miranda on facing Ilia Topuria
During the recent post-fight press conference, Gabriel Miranda speaks about the history he has with Ilia Topuria.
“I have the same problem with another guy in another event, another promotion,” Miranda said, as quoted by mmajunkie.usatoday.com. “We fought but a title fight. He came to UFC first, then I’m here. But I’m here one day and one day this fight will happen.
Ilia Topuria. Ilia Topuria. I was supposed to fight him for BRAVE. Now, we’re back in the same promotion. Now, we’re on the way”. For now, Gabriel Miranda needs to increase his fighting frequency if placing a spot in the top 15 featherweight rankings is a goal that he wants to achieve. He definitely has talent and skills; he has set the record of securing the 9th fastest submission in the UFC records.
