The young uprising Irish fighter Ian Machado Garry has been on a steady incline ever since he started his journey as a professional MMA fighter. Machado Garry recently claimed a significant win against Neil Magny and wants to challenge himself progressively.
Machado Garry wants to fight Stephen Thompson, but since Kamaru Usman called out Thompson, it is most likely for them to fight next. Ian Machado Garry strongly believes in his skills and abilities as a fighter; he thinks he can outplay Kamaru Usman and Colby Covington in the wrestling/grappling department.
Machado Garry aspires to prove to the world that he is not just a striker. A few more wins and Machado Garry will surely get an opportunity to fight for the prestigious welterweight belt.
Ian Machado Garry on his future goals
In a recent interview with Severe MMA, Ian Machado Garry shared his thoughts on what he wants next.
He then speaks about what he thinks he’s capable of achieving. “I want to get the title as the best striker in the division, and that comes when I knock out ‘Wonderboy,’ Garry said as quoted by mmajunkie.usatoday.com.
“And that’s when that will come. And then after that, I want to start tackling the grapplers and the wrestlers, because I want to show the world that I’m not just a striker, and anyone who’s ever trained with me knows that I can do it all.
“So to fight the Usmans, to fight the Colbys, to fight whoever they ******* put in front of me that’s going to want to take me down and get rid of my hands and my feet. I’m excited to show the world what else is there.
Machado Garry further said: I’m excited to show the world what else I’m capable of. Look, I’m telling you now, anybody, you give me Sean Brady as a grappler, I’ll sub him. You give me ******* Usman or Colby, I’ll outgrapple them or I’ll outwrestle them.
I don’t care what it is, I will find a way to win. It’s what I do, I’m a competitor. And above all else, I will get my hand raised”.
