Manon Fiorot will be facing one of the toughest tests of her career this Saturday night. Fiorot is going to fight against Rose Namajunas, and the winner of this fight could most likely fight against Alexa Grasso for the title fight.
Fiorot watched the recent match between Erin Blanchfield and Taila Santos; Fiorot was unimpressed, and after seeing the performance, she grew a little more confident and now believes that a win from here would get her a title shot.
It will be very interesting to see who ends up winning the match. If not a direct title shot, Fiorot could most likely fight against Erin Blanchfield (considering she wins against Namajunas). Namajunas is coming out of a very long break after losing the belt against Carla Esparza; her return is much awaited.
Manon Fiorot on getting a title shot
During the recent media day, the top women’s flyweight contender, Manon Fiorot, shared her thoughts on getting a title shot. Fiorot also spoke about Erin Blanchfield vs Taila Santos.
“I’m 100 percent sure that if I put on a good performance in this fight, considering the performance we’ve seen from Santos and Blanchfield, I’m going to be fighting for the belt,” Fiorot said, as quoted by mmajunkie.usatoday.com.
“I’m 100 percent convinced by that”. “I wasn’t impressed at all, actually, because until this point, she never really fought against an opponent at a high level, I think this fight showed her real level, and so I wasn’t really that impressed, no”.
Fiorot further said: “I think Rose is one of the best fighters we’ve seen, She’s an incredible fighter. I personally put her in the top five in the rankings. She’s a former champion, as well. It’s a massive test for me, as well, before I want to go and get that fight for the belt”.
