The middleweight veteran Brad Tavares recently fought against Chris Weidman and claimed a unanimous decision win. Tavares has been fighting for 13 years in the UFC; after the recent win, he revealed his wishlist and spoke about the opponents he would love to compete against if the opportunity was ever presented.

One of the names included a fighter he recently fought: Dricus Du Plessis. Tavares lost the match against Du Plessis via unanimous decision; if Tavares secures a few more convincing wins, he could definitely get a chance to have a rematch with Du Plessis.

After the last fight with Weidman, Brad Tavares hasupdated his professional record to 20-9. Tavares is not done yet; he still has a few more fights left in his career to fulfil. After the recent win, we can expect him to return one more time before the end of 2023.

Brad Tavares talks about his wishlist

During a recent interview with MMA Junkie Radio, Brad Tavares talks about having a rematch with Dricus Du Plessis and uncovers the second name on the wishlist. “Obviously, I would love to get it back with some of the people I dropped to, one of those being Dricus,” Tavares said, as quoted by mmajunkie.usatoday.com.

“After me, he went on a run, and if I could get that fight back, I would love that”. “Obviously where he is and where I’m at – well, I’m coming off a win, but before that two losses, it doesn’t make a lot of sense.

Tavares further said: … But somewhere in the near future, if somehow I could run that back, oh yeah, I would love that”. “I’m serious, I would love to fight the juiced-up Conor McGregor, I know that’s far-fetched. I know that will never happen. But if you’re asking me my wishlist, that would be on it”.
