Kevin Holland believes Michael Chiesa should retire and be a commentator

After absolutely obliterating Michael Chiesa, Kevin Holland has nothing but a small piece of advice for Chiesa – to retire and commentate. Holland has recovered well from his successive defeats against Khamzat Chimaev and Stephen Thompson; Holland recently secured a comprehensive 1st round submission win against Michael Chiesa, who came out of almost 2 years of inactivity.

Chiesa didn’t really get a chance to perform and showcase his skills as Holland was successful in dominating the match, he is just a few steps away from being featured in the top 15 rankings, and it will be very interesting to see who he ends up fighting next.

Kevin Holland’s thoughts on Michael Chiesa

During the post-fight press conference, the welterweight contender Kevin Holland spoke about Michael Chiesa and explained why he should retire and commentate. “I told him he just needs to quit fighting and start focusing on commentating,” Holland said, as quoted by mmajunkie.usatoday.com.

“He said he’s not going to retire. I mean, it’s his decision, but I think he should focus on commentating. I think he’s one of the better commentators”. “The game has circled past him and seriously left him, I see him talking about (a title).

Guys, you have to be realistic. People always talk: ‘I want to get a title. I want to get a title.’ Let’s be real. Some of you guys in the UFC are never going to get a title. Buy some jewelry like me. Retire. Commentate.

Holland further said: Focus on your family. You’re never going to get a title. “If that’s what you were here for, it’s not going to happen. You’re already collecting a check by not getting hurt, so just stop.

You’re a really good commentator. There’s no reason to take brain damage. The next guy might be more dangerous than me, and he might not go for the submission. He might just keep pounding your head in. Stop while you can”.
