Sean O’Malley believes Israel Adesanya is “the best champ UFC’s ever seen”

Sean O’Malley seems to have nothing but respect for the UFC middleweight champion Israel Adesanya. O’Malley has entitled Adesanya as the best UFC champion, and it’s a difficult statement to disagree on. Adesanya has accomplished insurmountable feats in his career and has been one of the most reliable and consistent champion in the history of the UFC.
Israel Adesanya was supposed to defend his belt against the highly-competitive Dricus Du Plessis, but due to an injury, Du Plessis won’t be able to show up, and now the UFC is looking forward to matching Adesanya up against Sean Strickland.
Many would argue whether Sean Strickland or Jared Cannonier is more worthy of getting the next title shot. The UFC shall soon make an official announcement for Israel Adesanya’s next title defense, which is expected to take place in Australia in September.
Sean O’Malley’s thoughts on Israel Adesanya
Recently on the Timbo Sugar Show, Sean O’Malley talks about how Israel Adesanya is the best UFC champion and reacts to his possible fight with Sean Strickland.
“Izzy has been the best champ UFC’s ever seen,” O’Malley said, as quoted by mmajunkie.usatoday.com. “The amount of times he has fought consistently as a champion in the UFC is legendary. The level of competition (between Adesanya and Anderson Silva), I feel like is not even comparable”.
“Adesanya vs. Sean Strickland’s probably going to be next, (Cannonier) looked ******* good against Marvin. O'Malley further said: He beat Sean Strickland but already lost to as Adesanya. I wonder if Jared’s like, ‘What the ****?’ or you get the game and like, OK, Sean Strickland’s a ****** character.
“If you’re the UFC, I don’t know if you want Sean Strickland as your UFC champion. His takes – him going on podcasts saying, ‘I crave killing people.’… Izzy vs. Strickland, I’m hyped for that.
I will watch that, I’ll buy that, I’m excited for that. You wouldn’t watch that?”.
