The 'war' between Michael Chandler and Conor McGregor doesn't seem to be ending anytime soon. On Tuesday, in the sixth episode of the 31st season of "The Ultimate Fighter", there was a conflict between Conor McGregor and Michael Chandler.
At one point, the Irishman used his hands to push Chandler away. The conflict happened after Chandler's fighter, Kurt Holobaugh, scored a victory over McGregor's fighter, Lee Hammond. In an interview with ESPN, Chandler described how everything looked and what he thought at the moment when McGregor "attacked" him.
"Well, hey, let’s just look at it: It went from zero to 100 very quickly,” Chandler said on ESPN. “To be honest with you, I didn’t expect it. Obviously we’re ready to protect ourselves at all times.
The first thing was, ‘Holy cow, OK, he just put his hands on me. What’s about to happen? Is he in my space?’ But obviously he backed up. I obviously got pushed back, and we both kind of started walking towards the center of the cage."
Michael Chandler was ready to fight
Michael Chandler seemed to be a bit surprised by Conor McGregor's reaction, considering that he did not expect it.
However, there have been sparks between them for a long time. Precisely because of this, nothing can be surprising when it comes to the two of them. The fact that it was all a reality show made Chandler willing to fight. “He starts taking off his coat, and I’m like, ‘OK, what? We’re going to fight right here?’ Obviously you never quite know what’s going to happen.
We’re on a reality show, but it’s also two dudes who want to fight each other. So I was ready for anything, and obviously I was ready to fight right there if we had to, but let’s be honest: We’re on a reality show”.
