As a result of his victory over Joaquim Silva, Arman Tsarukyan is full of confidence. It is, however, not only this factor that makes him believe in himself; it is a combination of several elements. Prior to that, Tsarukyan had six consecutive victories under his belt.
In the near future, he is going to take on the biggest challenge of his career, a match against the man who is considered the best lightweight in the world, Islam Makhachev. Despite Makhachev's dominance, Arman believes that he has the ability to stop him.
“Just me can beat him in our division,” Tsarukyan said, as quoted by mmajunkieusatoday.com “It’s my opinion. … It’s my dream fight. All my focus is to be a champion. That’s why I called him out.
We’ll see. Maybe next year we’ll fight with each other. I want to see my improvements. I want to see my skills. That fight, I think (is) the most competitive fight for me”.
Tsarukyan talks about his advantages
Tsarukyan believes that he has a recipe for defeating Makhachev.
The Armenian-Russian fighter is very familiar with Makhachev's strengths and where he can gain an advantage in the fight. Taking into account all of this, he will prepare well for the match and believes he has a greater advantage in many other aspects of the fight than anyone else.
“I think I’m going to defend his wrestling and beat him in the standup,” Tsarukyan said. “I believe my striking is better, my kicks, my boxing. He has a good clinch, but I think my footwork, my kicks and my boxing is much better.
He has good things in striking, too. We’ve got to be careful. I know how I can beat him and I want to show it to everybody. It’s going to be a tough fight, but I believe in myself and I’ll go there just for the win”.
