by | VIEW 610
The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) has been under fire lately for the lackluster bout lineup for their upcoming UFC 288 event. However, the organization has listened to the criticisms of fans and decided to revamp the card with a highly anticipated match-up between Gilbert Burns and Belal Muhammad.
Gilbert Burns Accepts Another Challenge
Burns, fresh off of his victory over Jorge Masvidal at UFC 287, has decided to step into the octagon once again only a month later. This will be his third appearance this year, having previously defeated Neil Magny by submission at UFC 283 and Masvidal at UFC 287.
The Brazilian fighter is no stranger to tough challenges and is prepared to take on the next one.
Belal Muhammad Returns to the Octagon
On the other side of the octagon, Belal Muhammad makes his return after a year-long hiatus from the sport.
His last bout was a victory over Sean Brady in October of 2022. Despite calling out several fighters including Khamzat Chimaev, Muhammad has not received any serious responses until now. With a record of 8 wins and 1 no contest in his last 9 fights, Muhammad is determined to make his way to the top and a victory over Burns would surely bring him closer to his goal.
Burns vs Muhammad
Both Burns and Muhammad are ranked welterweights in the UFC, and their bout is sure to be a highly entertaining match-up. The date is set for May 6th and fans can't wait to see these two fighters go head to head in the octagon.
With Burns' track record of taking on tough challenges and Muhammad's impressive winning streak, this bout is shaping up to be one for the books.
