
Anthony Joshua was born in Watford on October 15, 1989, and is an English boxer of Nigerian descent.
He is a two-time world champion and was a holder of the IBF, WBA, WBO and IBO world titles. Previously he also held the division's British, Commonwealth and WBC International titles.
As an amateur he won a gold medal at the 2012 London Olympics against the Italian Roberto Cammarelle and a silver medal at the 2011 Baku World Cup. As of May 2020 he is considered to be the third best heavyweight boxer in the world by BoxRec and check still an 81.5% KO rate for professional fights.
Joshua is the second British boxer, after James DeGale, to win both an Olympic gold and a world championship, yet he remains the first British heavyweight to do so. Joshua is also the second boxer ever, after Joe Frazier, to win a title in the heavyweight division, while still being an Olympic champion.
