Bayern Munich is a German multi-sports club based in Munich, famous for its soccer section, which plays in the Bundesliga, the top division of the German football championship.

Founded in 1900 by some members of the MTV München von 1879, the sports club includes sections of chess, volleyball, basketball, gymnastics, handball, bowling, table tennis and football teams. It is the sports club with the largest number of affiliates in the world.

The soccer section of the Bavarian sports club is the most successful in Germany, having won 33 championships, 20 national cups, 10 German Super Cups and 6 German League Cups, as well as one of the most victorious in the world, boasting 6 UEFA Champions League titles , a UEFA Cup, a Cup Winners' Cup, 2 UEFA Super Cups, 2 Intercontinental Cups and 2 Club World Cups, for a total of 83 official trophies.

In the 2012-2013 season, with the victory of the championship, national cup and UEFA Champions League, it became the only German club to have achieved the treble, a feat repeated in the 2019-2020 season, the year in which, thanks to the victory of the German Super Cup, the UEFA Super Cup and the Club World Cup, became the second club in history to achieve six titles, after Barcelona in 2009.
